Very nice review. Movie itself is now much more interesting, usually I've just skipped Bio Zombie along with other weird movies. Funny plot, memorable characters (I love funny characters!), zombies and cheap gore.

Users, are you sleeping or what? Post more comments!

I quite agree: Bio Zombie is one of my favourites. It's just so stupid, so charming, so completely likeable - I don't really think it was supposed to be scary, y'know? And the fact that even though it's a comedy, it has a really downbeat ending - pure class!

It's Larry's review, so hopefully he'll get to read this thread at some point

Darn, I want to see it now hehe.

I can only hope it will magically appear at my local video store.
I just love low budget comedy B-movie horror.

Just a word of warning, if you're looking for this.

I picked up an HK DVD of it, I think it was from Mei Ah. (It's packed right now, buried under a ton of boxes, so's I can't check to be sure.) The picture was okay, but the Cantonese soundtrack was either poorly mixed or poorly transferred - it seemed like the soundtrack of the source material was transferred at too low a volume level, so they apparently jacked up the volume after the recording was made. The result: the volume's still low, there's a lot of hissing, it's hard to hear that great guitar riff during the garage scene, and anytime someone makes a loud noise (like, oh say, shouting), the sound level peaks and kind of cuts out. (This gets really annoying during the climax.) Maybe I just got a bad disk, I don't know.

I've seen the VCD, and it seems to be reasonably okay. It's also had a US DVD release in the past year, (saw a copy at Suncoast a few months back), which hopefully doesn't have the same sound problem.

The Mei Ah disc wouldn't work in our DVD-Rom drive, either, or Larry's: the screencaps are from a dodgy old VHS copy taped off the telly :?

I have the US release... though, I MIGHT grab the HK Mei Ah version, as well,... since it seems to have an alternate ending as a film extra... not to mention that it sells for a very mere 12.95...

I have no complaints with the US disk, however.

Nor do I... the US transfer is great, and hell, it even comes with an "Engrish" subtitle track which makes the movie about 100 times more entertaining. I always prefer a literal translation to an "americanized" one.

I bought Bio Zombie on the strength of Larry's review. What a great movie""

I got the Mei-Ah disc from www.movietyme.com for a tenner - the soundtrack was ok I suppose - it didn't detract from the enjoyment - and the disc does have an alternate ending (which I haven't watched yet)....

Larry - thanks for the review and thanks to forum for introducing me to yet another excellent movie which I would've missed otherwise....

awww... you're very welcome!! to tell you the truth the first half annoyed the hell out of me, and i was all but ready to lambast it. but then, i took it far what it was, and i realized that the filmmakers' THEMSELVES weren't taking the film seriously so WHY SHOULD I?

i'm glad you liked the movie. it WAS fun...

I just say this today, and my very own Media Blaster R1 is now ON ORDER! ($15 at DeepDiscountDVD.) As some one mentioned earlier in this thread, it is the great characters that make this silly film so enjoyable. If you haven't seen this, and you liked Wild Zero, I'm fairly confident that you ought to add this to the must see list.

In the scenes where hes going to that little store where he buys the coke and then the diet coke right above that is the lucozade energy drink.

Default Biozombie Alternate Ending

Biozombie is great. I like how one Amazon.com reviewer described it: "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure meets Dawn of the Dead gone horribly wrong..." Lol. Does anyone have any info on an alternate ending, if it exists?

There's an alternate ending, if I recall correctly, on the HK Mei-Ah disc, but I've never been able to see it because a) the disc resolutely refuses to play on any of the SA DVD players - all five of them - and also refused to play for Larry Burns and b) the subs on that disc are atrocious. Maybe I'll dig out the disc soon and have another stab.

Welcome to the forums!

the mei-ah disc does have the alternate ending. if you're lucky enough to get a pretty good player/disc, you'll get to see it. i got to see it from another person's DVD player.
