Same. I'd rather endure the breaks in the film (which can be handy to allow time to get snacks/answer Nature's call, etc anyway) than have to pay for the channel...especially as my parents control the sky in my house and therefore I don't have that option in the first place

It's not an Asian film, but it's relevant, so I'm putting it here. This afternoon (Tuesday) BBC2 are showing the 1964 version of Seance on a Wet Afternoon, based on the same novel as Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Seance, and starring Richard Attenborough. It starts at 1.35 p.m. Check it out if you can, 'cos it makes an interesting comparision piece with the Kurosawa film.
  3. Mandi Apple The Acid Queen

Very nice - thanks for the heads-up Jim! :D
  4. Alex Apple Lord Snowblood Apple

    Tonight, FilmFour, 12.35: Azumi.
  5. Mandi Apple The Acid Queen

    Tonight, FilmFour, 11.05pm - Oldboy :D

Unfortunately we forgot to flag up Lady Vengeance last night - sorry folks

Which reminds me, the rest of the Korean FilmFour season is as follows:

    Saturday 7th: A Tale of Two Sisters, 10.45 p.m.
    Sunday 8th: R-Point, 11.35 p.m.
    Monday 9th: Brotherhood, 10.45 p.m.
    Tuesday 10th: Tell Me Something, 10.50 p.m.
  7. Rasen Nothing to Fear...

Wish I'd been paying attention to this thread so I could've caught Azumi. It's one of those films I always consider buying but then put it back in the rack in favour of something else. Would've been nice to see it for free :)

Thanks for the Korean season listing. Sadly it seems like they've started strong with 3 of the best in a row only to end with a whimper with the somewhat underwhelming Tell Me Something.
  8. Mandi Apple The Acid Queen

Maybe I can finally force Alex to sit down and watch TOTS with me tonight  We have several bottles of super-chilled Oktoberfest beer in the fridge... mmm, beer :D
  9. Forest-Law Guest

Half an hour to R-Point. Looks good, a friend said it was really creepy. Can't wait.
  10. Alex Apple Lord Snowblood Apple

It's on a bit later tonight too, if anyone missed it.
  11. Mandi Apple The Acid Queen

Half past midnight tonight, FilmFour, Ju-on: The Grudge 8)
  12. Rasen Nothing to Fear...

Hopefully this'll mean they'll do number 2 also as I haven't seen that yet.
  13. Mandi Apple The Acid Queen

Let's hope so - can't see nowt about it in the listings though, maybe they'll do it next week sometime, that'd be cool :D

Anyone who misses Ju-on: The Grudge tonight can catch it again on Saturday night, according to the listings :D
  14. Alex Apple Lord Snowblood Apple

Seeing Juon The Grudge 2 has only just been released on DVD here (as The Grudge 2, naturally, just to confuse people), I suspect it'll be a while till it pops up on TV. When I last looked in Sainsbury's at the weekend, it was about their number 14 highest-selling DVD of the week.

Probably 'cos of that misleading title, mind.
  15. RubyGloom in lesbians with you

Ju-On: The Grudge is on again tonight.

And on Tuesday Channel 4 is showing The Eye at 12:45am
  16. Rasen Nothing to Fear...

Might well watch The Eye again. Really good film.
  17. Mandi Apple The Acid Queen

    Tonight, FilmFour, 1am, Gozu :D
  18. Mandi Apple The Acid Queen

Tonight, FilmFour, 1.20am, Vital :D Well worth a watch if you've not already seen it
  19. addyboy Caissa's Angel of Death

I was lucky enough to catch Azumi on Film 4 new years eve actually!

Great stuff - see in the bells on Beeb 1, then as that show ends switch over to a cool sword play film (its the kind of non-intellectual entertainment that is very good for a night like new years)
  20. Mandi Apple The Acid Queen

Battle Royale is on FilmFour again tonight, 10.45pm. Might stick it on in the background while I'm putting the finishing firelighter *cough*, I mean, touches :)snigger: ) to my Cello review :raspberr:
