Dear all We've had an influx of (mostly Russian) spammers over the last 48 hours, so for the time being I've had to change the registration process slightly so that bots are less likely to be able to get in. I'm also reviewing all new members before allowing them in - so apologies if it takes around 24 hours to approve you. If you're having difficulties registering, please either use the contact us page on the forum or the contact form on the review site. Hopefully I can relax this back to the old rules once the current onslaught has passed.
Just to back this up with evidence: in the last 48 hours or so, we had seven sign-ups, all of which were identified on various blacklists as being from spam IPs. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
Thanks for keeping all the spam out Alex. I know how bad it can get coz another forum that I'm a member of is totally over run with the stuff, page after page of it. So all your hard work is appreciated
Just an update - I'm still manually approving registrations, and still turning down a bunch (I rejected 11 just this morning). If you register, and after a few days your membership hasn't been verified, please use the "contact us" link at the bottom of each page to get hold of me. Sorry for any inconvenience (though I'm 99% certain that all of the accounts I've rejected have been spammers).
