    Extreme "extreme" movies

Hey im new to the forum but i been a lurker for a long time now. I needed some help finding some extreme gore. i have all the guinea pig stuff, evil dead traps, naked blood. I want a little harder to find stuff or stuff that isnt so well known. Any help would rule.

try www.visual-pain.co.uk for some rare japanese stuff... and in the USA : ... you have all the stuff which is "widely" available on dvd but there more at these sites not released outside japan.

I guess the most notorious Asian gore movie would be Men Behind The Sun, if you have not already seen that. Also Organ, and the Untold Story series (which I believe are Chinese).

Japan-Shock might be a place you check out for these kinds of movies, as well as Unearthed Films.

the Untold Story films are from HK - and star notorious CAT 3 man Anthony Wong (from Hard Boiled, Infernal Affairs... and, erm... My Life As McDull - a kids animated series / film about a pig...!). you will find em cheaply at HK stores online like dddhouse.com or layoyo.com ...

I normally don't edit people's posts unless there's a hotlinked image. But in this case I've edited logboy's first post in this thread, as both Mandi and myself are uncomfortable with having a link on these boards which sends the visitor to a site which purports to sell "real-life death stuff", as they put it so succinctly. I hope no-one objects too much.

i dont mind. and i apologise if this was inappropriate. Qs like this (perhaps) in the future should be answere by PM? i will try to remember. sorry...

i ordered men behind the sun from Aung-Pin (a chinese store here in the phils.) i juz watch it, duh! it's so vulgar and too gory. i definetly NOT recomend this film to faint hearted, juz on the people who really love extreme brutal, gore and bloody movies.there are a few hard scenes ,one is when they take a girl/woman and put her outside chaind to something in the blistering cold snowing whether ,after a while her hands are frozen and they take her inside and brake(when i say brake i mean shatter) her frozen hands ,a very realistic stuff but imo have to be fake. This movie was much brutal than "Gestapo's Last Orgy"

    Thanks vorheez!

Swordsman, please read other people's posts and make sure you post in the right thread (Mandi did in fact flag up the Men Behind The Sun thread in her last post).

Does anyone on here watch any REALLY "extreme" films???

I'm new here, so first off - howdy...

My question being, and not to sound condescending or like a film-Nazi or anything...but I was excited when I found an "Asian Extreme" board, hoping to talk to like-minded individuals who may be into underground and extreme films. Unfortunately, it seems that most of the "extreme" films mentioned on here are the type of stuff that I can pick up at any Blockbuster. Are there any fans of true underground Asian cinema here? I've seen a few posts on stuff like the GUINEA PIG films and the ALL NIGHT LONG series and whatnot - but anyone here into stuff like Daisuke Yamanouchi or Tamakichi Anaru films? Anyone heard of MUZAN E, or PSYCHO: THE SNUFF REELS, or the ECCENTRIC PSYCHO CINEMA series? I'm also a big fan of HK CATIII material and Japanese pinku films - anyone into any of this stuff???

I only went back a couple months in posts but didn't see anything relating to this sort of thing. If anyone's interested, I'm down to chat - if not, I may be in the wrong place... ;)

    Hi, welcome to SAF.

Depends what you're after really - in reality we're a bunch of erudite foreign movie freaks with a taste for the more cult end of the market; so while not quite the Blockbuster type (though there are a few key crossover movies) you won't, with a few exceptions, find many people here with a passion for the more underground films you seem to enjoy.

If you go to the review site, you'll find reviews of the Guinea Pig movies, Ebola Syndrome and a few other key gore movies, and some associated threads on here.

"Extreme" though is a subjective limitation after all, and one we've discussed here at great length previously ;)
  12. EVOL666 Guest

Fair enough - I guess I'm a "purist" when it comes to defining "extreme" films. Films like UZUMAKI and A TALE OF TWO SISTERS which I've seen repeatedly mentioned far fall outside the "extreme" realm in my mind - but hey, I guess someone could call GREMLINS "extreme" if all they've ever seen is CINDERELLA...

I figure that I'll assume that since no one replied to the OP's topic in 2 years that there aren't a lot of fans of this sort of material around here...
  13. Mandi Apple The Acid Queen

That's the first time I've ever heard the main body of this review site either written off as being akin to Gremlins in its coverage of cult material  We do have reviews of a few select 'extreme' extreme titles but mondo and the harsher echelons of gore are not the main focus of this site and never will be.
  14. EVOL666 Guest

no need to get defensive...I've read some of the reviews, and I agree, you have reviewed some good, "extreme" material on here. My point with the GREMLINS reference, is that anyone can call anything whatever they want, and genre categorization will always be a point of contention amongst different genre fans...my point was that in my opinion (which again, I realize is strictly MY opinion...) films like UZUMAKI and TALE OF TWO SISTERS and THE EYE and whatnot, are not "extreme" films. And I never mentioned anything about Mondo films, I was talking about more underground films that seem to be often overlooked, and I personally was fishing to see if there were any fans amongst this board to start a dialog with.

As far as this board not being geared towards the type of "extreme" films that I was referring to - that's fine, it's your board and you are obviously free to do with it as you wish - but I would think that a bit of diversity amongst your forum members would be encouraged as many people don't even know that many of the films that I was initially referring to even exist...

Oh, there sure are some here who do watch more extreme films. They've just been kind of inactive lately. I agree about "extreme" sometimes being a little bit mismatching, but it's simply for a lack of a better word.

As to why so many films here are those easily available is simple to answer: New people discover asian films all the time, come in here and want to discuss the films they've seen.. which inevitably will be those easily available.
And with the increase of easily found titles the rest of us have started to get lazy, I guess, and probably also a little bit lost in the stride stream of new DVDs being released. At least I know I am.

You're very welcome here - there are probably some very interesting gems of films that we haven't heard of so feel free to start new threads on films you know about that haven't got threads for yet and should have.
Maybe start a thread about Hisayasu Sato? I've been a bit curious about his films but don't know where to start.
  16. EVOL666 Guest

thanks very much for the welcom GWYDD...

my whole point is I really have no interest in debating the term "extreme" - I just would like to either extend my knowledge of these types of films to other boarders, or gain some insight on films I may not have seen as well...

As far as Sato - I've seen a few of his films. Definitely one of the most interesting directors who started in the pinku genre and turned what were essentially soft-core porn films (I mean that in the best possible way, I LOVE pinku films... ;) and turned them on their head.

Of course - many know about NAKED BLOOD. A great and truly "smart" extreme-gore film that anyone that doesn't see it is doing themselves a disservice.

As to his other works (that I've seen...) - I think RAFURESHIA is definitely worth a look. Somewhat similar to Miike's VISITOR Q, but pre-dated by many years.

HORSE-WOMAN-DOG is an interesting pinku film that has some (simulated) beastiality themes - and the film seems cool, but unfortunately, as it's only available in Japanese language only, some of the "finer points" are lost on me...

LOVE-ZERO=INFINITY and SURVEY MAP OF A PARADISE LOST are both off-beat pinku films that are heavy on sleaze but have a "point" too, other than just being rape-oriented trash-fests as most pinku films are (again - saying that in the nicest possible way, as I love the pinku genre - and the sleazier the better for me...)

I have LADY OF THE STABLE and LOLITA: VIBRATOR TORTURE laying around, and haven't gotten to it yet - I scanned through it to make sure my copy wasn't screwed up...looked interesting...

I probably have a few others of his laying around that I haven't gotten to as well. I routinely trade rare films, so I always have an influx of films - now it's to the point that I honestly don't think I'll ever get to watch some of the stuff I've collected... :(

Other films of note, if interested in the pinku genre: ASSAULT! JACK THE RIPPER (violent, sleazy, harsh - probably the "roughest" of the pinku genre that I've come across yet), WIFE TO BE SACRIFICED, ALL WOMEN ARE WHORES, BEAUTIFUL GIRL HUNTER (aka STAR OF DAVID), RAPE!, RAPING!, CAPTURED FOR SEX 2...and a 100 others I could go on about... ;)

...and before anyone starts talking about what a "pervert" I am (and this is not directed to anyone in particular) - please do your research on pinku films and understand that the titles are often far more "disturbing" than the films themselves. In most cases, the studios attached extremely sleazy titles to films to help put asses in the seats - but also, these films aren't for prudes either... ;)

Evol666: thanks a lot - I'll look into Naked Blood and especially Rafureshia. Given that I liked Visitor Q quite a lot, it sounds like Rafureshia should fit me well.
  20. Mandi Apple The Acid Queen

Artsmagic's US division haven't long released Rafureshia - even Amazon.com are stocking it  http://www.amazon.com/Rafureshia-Kinako/dp/B000GI3KSU

Looks like Unearthed Films are going to be releasing some Daisuke Yamanouchi titles, including Red Room and Blood Sisters 8)
