Aeon Flux I've been waiting for this DVD to come out at a cheaper price, and now I've bought it... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Æon_Flux_(film) This was long awaited by me. OK, it's got Charlize Theron in a cat suit - and I guess that's enough reason for me to buy it, but it also looked like a Ghost in the Shell type film, so it was a must-buy as far as I was concerned. It's much better than you might expect given the premise. It's a lot better than Underworld, which I guess has a superficially similar concept. In actual fact, the story and general zeitgeist of the film is a cross between Equilibrium and Gattaca. It's worth a look if you like any of the films I mentioned in this post. I think I had better buy Aeon Flux the animated series eventually. I have seen one episode of this many years ago, and was impressed at the time.
I saw quite a few of the animated shorts on late-night MTV a while back and, I dunno, it didn't really appeal to me, they pretty much failed to involve me personally but I did like the style greatly, and I particularly liked the opening titles (me? shallow? mais bien sur!)
