A li'l help please chums...? Hello all you loverly Japanese-fluent folks, Please may I beg you for a weeny bit of translation help? I got given a nifty link to a 30-year-old Japanese comic page with some jokes about my favourite band of all time Japan - however, natch, they're all in Japanese  Could someone possibly be so kind as to tell me what's being said? http://tcnweb.ne.jp/~miufrog/FAVORITE/MUSIC/JAPAN/4beat.html Thankies in advance :tiphat:
There are a couple of kanji that I need to look up first, but I'll translate this within a week if nobody else does. Incidentally, I haven't been here in months...hope everyone's been well.
Would have been nice if I had reported back... Sorry, but I'm currently working on my thesis for school and haven't had the time to look at this comic again. Will note it on my "to do" list and get back.
My God, I totally forgot about this again. OK, here goes: (vertical cel, from up to down): 4 Beat Gag 9th edition - Japan edition Illustrated by Shima Atsuko (Mick) "Hey, it's Japan's sign (cardboard stand-up)" (Richard) "Best dresser!" (Masami) "Stylish" (Steve) "Detective Colombo!" ---1st strip-- Title: Reflexes "Biiiin" (keyboard sound) - "Kyarichan" (sound of something unrolling) - "Spaaan" (hard, striking sound) - "Baki!" (sound of something bouncing off person's head) "Hey!" ---2nd strip-- "Eating What's You're Given" "Hey David, don't hold back" "......." - "Take whatever you like" "....OK...." - "So, then....." "Paki" --3rd strip-- "Public Bath" "Hey, David" - "Why don't you come on over to my place? I'm all alone" - "I love you, David. You make my heart flutter..." - "Steve, behave yourself" "Hehehe" "All right!" --4th strip-- "Then and now...and..." "During the days of their debut" - "Just before breaking up" "It sure was nice back in the old days" "Don't tell me I've gotten fat" "That's just being human" "I haven't changed but my clothes...." "Breaking up is nothing like retiring...no, it doesn't mean the same thing." Hope that helps. I don't really get the jokes myself since I don't know much about the band beyond some of their music.
Super double awesome - thanks so much, Rupan! I will go to the JapanSylvian.com boards and share that fab translation with them too
